VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: QIAGEN’s Sonya Spencer Memorial Volunteer Fair

The Americas Community Service Committee (ACSC) of QIAGEN would like to thank you for participating in our 6th annual Sonya Spencer Memorial Volunteer Fair on February 21. QIAGEN employs hundreds of talented individuals in the Washington, D.C. region. The event is an opportunity for service organizations and advocates in the local communities to engage QIAGEN employees and hopefully form lasting service partnerships.

The Volunteer Fair

Address          19300 Germantown Road, Germantown, Maryland 20874

                        Make sure to use the correct address as there are multiple QIAGEN sites.

Arrival time    February 21 / 1:00-1:30pm. Please plan to be set up no later than 1:30pm

Parking           As you enter, parking is available in a reserved lot in front of the parking garage (see map below).  This lot has been specially reserved for you.

We will be happy to assist you with unloading and transporting supplies if needed.

Check-In          You will need to check-in at the Employee Entrance Security Desk to sign in and obtain a visitor’s badge.

Community Service Committee members will be there to greet you (look for the CSC T shirt with the QIAGEN logo and big smiles).

Introduction   At 1:45pm, we will have a welcome and brief introduction to QIAGEN by Maja Owens, Senior Director of HR Operations Americas

Employees      Arrival will be between 2:00 – 3:30pm. We normally get around 200 employees participating, so plan accordingly.

Ice Cream       The ACSC will be serving Ice Cream as part of this event. 

                        When you arrive, you will find tickets at your table.  After you’ve shared the mission of your service organization and available volunteer opportunities with our employees, please provide each employee with a single ticket before they leave. 

Once employees have visited three organizations (four tickets), they can enjoy ice cream.  You, of course, are welcome to enjoy ice cream (free, without tickets) whenever you’d like!

Materials         Please bring any materials or giveaways that you would like to share. We’ll have a guest Wi-Fi password available if you need one.
